Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been added in the squad ifor Champions League
Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been added in the Red Devils squad for the Champions League group.
Ibrahimovic rejoined the club last month after he was release ad at the end of last season due to kneel ligament injury which he suffered during Man United Europa match against Anderlecht in April.
Recall, manage Jose Mourinho had previously said the the 35-year-old will not be fit for the group stage campigne and would only be ready at the second part of the season.
“I’m not thinking Ibrahimovic will play any part in the group phase, ” Mourinho said.
“I don’t think there’s any change of that. Do we have space in the Champions League for him? Yes, we have.
“Hopefully he can play in the knockout phase, but for that to happen will need to finish in the top two.”
In Ibrahimovic first English football career he scored 28-goal for Man United, as he help the squad to won the Carabao and the Europa League title, and earning them qualification for the Champions League through the latter.
Man United begins the Champions League race at home agace FC Basel on September 12 before trips to CSKA Moscow on September 27 and Benfica on October 18.
However, United will welcome BenBenfica at Old Trafford on October 31 before traveling to Base on Novembe 22 ending with home match against CSKA on Dec 5.
