Kylian Mbappe has confirmedconfirmed meeting with Arswnal Wenger during the transfer window, and he says going the Gunners was a real option before he chose Paris Saint-German.
PSG signs Mbappe from Monaco on a loan, and are expected to pay £165million next year for a permanent move.
Wenger said they could be a possible Mbappe Arsenal move earlier in the summer, and it was widely reported that the pair held a three hours meeting in the French capital.
Meanwhile, the transfer window has shut down for this year and it will be reopen next year.
Mbappe told Daily Telegraph: “I met with Arsene Wenger, who is a great coach. He has a great reputation here in France, he’s well respected and knows how to develop young players. This was a real option for me.
“But of course, PSG was the main option.
“We weighed up the advantages and the disadvantages of all the clubs but my family told me it had to be my decision and one I needed to make. It also had to be a long terms decision. So it was up to me and I decided to come here in order to develop.”
However, Mbappe is yet to make his PSG debut.
