Southampton have parted ways with Mauricio Pellegrino
They made the announcement on Monday
Southampton have sacked Mauricio Pellegrino as the club head coah after he was appointed in less than a year.
Mauricio who was given a three-year deal at the Premier League club was hired in June of 2017 after Claude Puel parted ways with the club had previously been at Alaves.
Saints board have changed of mind after they were beaten 3-0 at Newcastle on Saturday, leaving them with just one place and one point above the relegation zone.
Southampton have won just one of their last 17 league matches. And the win was against bottom club West Brom.
We also understood that assistant coach Carlos Compagnucci and assistant first-team coach Xavier Tamarit have also parted ways with the club.
“We would like to place on record our thanks to Mauricio, Carlos and Xavier for their efforts during their time with Southampton, and wish them well for the future,” the club wrote on their official website.
“The club will look to appoint a new management [team] as soon as possible, with the search for a replacement already under way. ..“
Saints will be hopinp to sign a new replacement as soon as they can, as they set to play Wigan in the FA quarter final on Sunday.
