City Bernardo Silva will not face any further action in the FA
Bernardo o Silva of Manchester City will not face any
further action from the FA after they
examined video footage of potential
simulation victory over Burnley on Saturday.
Silva was suspected
of deceiving referee Roger East for
the penalty that made it 1-0 at the
Etihad, which was converted by
Sergio Aguero to equal City’s all-
time goal-scoring record.
Replays showed there was minimal
contact from Burnley goalkeeper Nick
Pope as the Portugaforward went to ground, but the
23-year-old insisted he was touched.
According to new rules introduced in May,
the FA reviews potential acts of
simulation where there is a clear
case to answer, but they have spared
Silva of a potential two-match
Silva who joined Pe Guardiola squad in a £43.5m deal from Monaco in
the summer, has made 12
appearances and scored once for his
new club so far this term.
